Henk Jan van Schothorst

Henk Jan van Schothorst is founder and Executive Director of Christian Council International. From 2000 – 2007 Henk Jan served in the European Parliament (EP) as staffer to a Member of Parliament and a political group with Christian and conservative origins. He was a senior staff member on behalf of this political group in the Foreign Affairs Committee and in the Transatlantic Legislators Dialogue between the U.S. Congress and the EP, and in the Israel delegation. Henk Jan holds an M.A. in History with a specialization in European Integration from the University of Leiden in the Netherlands, his home country. He is married and has six children.

Summary:

In explaining the work of our organization I will include the topic ‘Sovereign Europe and the relationship of national sovereignty to the federal vision of Europe – and how to reverse Brussels powers back to the nations’

As a non-profit organization, CCI develops a transatlantic and international network of Christians and conservatives involved in public policy and influences policy from a Christian perspective. CCI speaks at international organizations such as the UN, EU, AU and OSCE and member states to stand up for a Christian voice worldwide with an extra focus on themes such as life, family, sovereignty and freedom (of religion and education).
