Observations on state sovereignty in the context of the Lotus boat case
Abstract: International law is based on the sovereignty of states. This sovereignty constitutes the regulatory principle of the said right. Despite the fact that sovereignty has been subject to regular attacks for years by certain representatives of the doctrine, it continues to form the basis of law. International law originates from and ends with states. This is unaffected by the fact that it is addressed to individuals and that individuals have specific, strong rights within states, best exemplified by human rights.Similar publications
