Poland does not want the opposition to be weak. Unfortunately, this has been the case for the last five years. The plan of the Civic Platform and its partners was to wear down society with hysteria, and then take over power after two years at most, under pressure from the street and abroad. I'm not saying it couldn't have been done. It could have worked. The noise made people tired. He didn't let them live normally. In the end, however, the voters behaved sensibly and elected PiS representatives, who not only knew what to offer them, but also kept their previous promises. I think this is where the superiority of PiS and its candidate, Andrzej Duda, lies. In addition, the idea of ​​total opposition came in very handy in the election campaign. Because we know - they come and burn everything and everyone with a hot iron. It just didn't make sense to vote for the opposition. All the more so because Rafał Trzaskowski, and previously the majority of PO politicians, showed that election programs mean nothing to them. Therefore, if the Platform wants to return to winning ways, it must change. Above all, you have to give room to PiS. Budka and his colleagues should declare: you have a majority, so reform. The hysterical jumping and running to Brussels behind Angela Merkel's skirt only reinforces the feeling that the resistance to (any) changes is so great that it is impossible to carry out any kind of reform. Meanwhile, the PO could have done 5 years ago to sit back, and now it is only concerned with questioning Zbigniew Ziobro whether the courts are already functioning properly. The majority of Poles would still answer no, but the majority of them would state that it is all the fault of the opposition, the Venice Commission, the European Union and the judicial caste, which defends itself tooth and nail. The protection of the media by force against foreign capital will also end in the same way. All the PO should do is claim and account. And to wait. Like the crocodile on the banks of the Nile. Which is most effective when your victim feels safe. On the other hand, the PO is currently - and all indications are that it will remain so - a stupid reptile that only traps with its tail, splashing the water left and right, so that no one even thinks of going near the shore.
