OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT!

CÖF-CÖKAExcerpt: The head of the European Parliament cannot set expectations regarding the case law of the CJEU, he cannot set the prospect of a possible defeat

OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT!

Dear President David Sassoli!

In addition, we would like to inform Mr. President that Klára Dobrev, the Vice-President of the European Parliament, stated in her social media post in connection with the emerging budget agreement that if Hungary goes to the European Court of Justice (ECJ) " the Hungarian government has lost all such important cases at the European Court of Justice . He will fail this one too. "

After conducting a professional consultation, we came to the clear conclusion that Klára Dobrev's aforementioned statement made her unworthy of her position in the European Parliament.

Although the incriminated statement is not prejudicial, it is seriously unethical and incompatible with EU law. The head of the European Parliament cannot formulate expectations regarding the jurisprudence of the CJEU, he cannot put in perspective a possible perversion, since if the legal position of the Luxembourg body reflects what was recorded in his declaration of intent, it could destroy the authority of the European Court.

In addition, with his statement, the vice-president of the European Parliament clearly suggested that the impartial and independent Court of Justice of the European Union is biased against Hungary.

Based on the above, we ask Mr. David Sassoli, President, to take the necessary steps to terminate Dobrev's office as Vice-President of the European Parliament and inform us of the results.

Budapest, December 10, 2020.

Sincerely,

On behalf of the Civil Solidarity Public Foundation and the Civil Solidarity Forum
