It supports action against all forms of social exclusion, regardless of race or gender, and ensures that workers' rights, workplace safety or health are respected and that workers receive a fair wage. UGL identifies one of the fundamental achievements of the trade union in modern collective society and is committed to increasing the insightful presence of trade unions in the economic and social decision-making processes of the European Union.
